Queen City Brewers Festival

Press release for 2nd annual QC Brewers Festival

Charlotte will be on tap as the 2nd annual Queen City Brewers Festival (QCBF) returns to the Neighborhood Theatre (511 E. 36th Street, Charlotte, NC, 28205), on Saturday, February 2, 2013. QCBF is exclusive to the Charlotte-area breweries that are putting the Queen City on the craft beer map. The event will feature a diverse selection of beer styles and flavors for the Charlotte community to taste
and learn about from official brewery representatives.

“The first-ever QCBF was a tremendous success thanks to the support we received from the Charlotte community,” said event organizer Nils Weldy. “QCBF is a more intimate tasting festival that lets the spotlight shine on our Charlotte-area breweries and gives beer lovers the unique opportunity to sample a variety of locally brewed beer all under one roof.”

Each brewery will showcase its full lineup of beers and brewers are encouraged to bring one “super” flavor or style of beer especially for QCBF, as the event takes place the day before the Super Bowl.

Proceeds raised from the event will benefit Partners for Parks, a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation that seeks to promote and enhance parks, recreation and open space in neighborhoods throughout Mecklenburg County and the surrounding area. “Partners for Parks not only supports the parks and greenways themselves, but also a variety of programs that take place in the parks, such as festivals, stewardship programs and recreational activities,” said Weldy. “We’re thrilled to have them on hand at the festival and bring them face-to-face with the Charlotte community.”

QCBF will also partner with Charlotte-based food vendors, and will feature works by local artists. Guests will also enjoy live music.

There will be two tasting sessions: 1-4PM and 6-9PM. Admission is $25 per session and tickets go on sale Thursday, December 6 at 11AM.

Guests must have a valid photo ID and be 21 years of age or older to enter the festival
